Tour in Yangon : Visiting Laydauntkan Housing and touring around Yangon

Acting President and Chairman of the State Security and Peace Commission Senior General Min Aung Hlaing visited the Myanma Thakaung War Veterans' Housing (Laydauntkan) in Dagon Myothit (South) Township of Yangon Region on Friday to inspect the ongoing construction and expansion of the facilities.

During his visit, the Acting President heard reports on the implementation status, progress on the solar power plant at the housing, timely completion of additional buildings and the drainage upgrading works. The Acting President emphasized that the Myanma Thakaung War Veterans’ Housing (Laydauntkan) is being built as a model housing to contribute to Yangon’s development.

He called for improved drainage system and roads, school construction, water, and electricity facilities, promotion of livestock and agriculture, and systematic planting of shade trees, along with other necessary measures. The Acting President and party later toured the housing by motorcade and warmly greeted the war veterans and their families.

They then inspected the shopping complex under construction at the corner of Bayintnaung Road and No. (7) Road near the housing and provided instructions based on officials’ reports. The Acting President also toured Dagon Myothit (East), Dagon Myothit (South), Thingangyun, Thaketa, Tamwe, Bahan, Dagon, and Kamayut Townships by motorcade.

He gave instructions for the orderly operation of roadside shops and stalls, improvement of drainage systems, maintenance of roads, implementation of Green Zones and other necessary measures to enhance urban management in Yangon.
