Tour in Thibaw : Development of a resilient and strong social community

Chairman of the Working Committee on Information and Development of a Resilient and Strong Social Community and Union Minister for Information U Maung Maung Ohn, together with film and music professionals, arrived in Thibaw, Northern Shan State on December 20.

They were warmly welcomed by local people and staff at the town entrance. At the City Hall, the Union Minister attended the meeting on implementing the information and development of strong and resilient community.  The meeting commenced by screening a video clip titled ‘Marching Forward to the Goal’.

Following this, the Union Minister delivered an addresses, saying that preparations are in progress for the upcoming multiparty general election in Thibaw Township. He stressed the need to vote the candidates who can perform for better future of the region.

Later, Commander of Northeast Command Brigadier General Aye Min Oo gave a speech, explaining the counter control of townships in Northern Shan State, and efforts to restore the normal situation. The Union Minister later presented Buddha statues, MRTV DTH Satellites, and MRTV DVB – T2 Set Top Boxes. This was followed by the entertainment program by artists and vocalists.
