







Vice Chairman of the State Security and Peace Commission Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services, Commander-in-Chief (Army) Vice Senior General Soe Win visited Kaung Hmu Lone Pagoda in Machanbaw Township of PutaO District in Kachin State on Thursday.
The Vice Senior General and party offered alms, fruits, lights, flowers and water to the Buddha Image and paid homage to the pagoda in a clock wise position.
The Vice Senior General also made cash donation for all-round renovation of the pagoda. Kaung Hmu Lone Pagoda is located on the eastern bank of Malikha River near Kaung Hmu Lone Village. The pagoda was first established in 244 Buddhist Era during the time of King Sri Dharmashoka, enshrining three relics of Lord Buddha. The Pagoda is the tallest structure in PutaO area, and it marks as the significant monument, showcasing the flourishing of Buddha Sasana in the northernmost part of Myanmar since ancient time.
In the afternoon, the Vice Senior General and party visited the battalions and units under Machanbaw and PutaO Stations and coordinated the needs of family members.
