







Union Minister for Immigration and Population U Myint Kyaing on Sunday attended a ceremony in Wakema Township, Ayeyawady Region, to provide three months of financial assistance to temporarily displaced people and distributed cash and relief items.
The assistance covered July, August, and September, with each person receiving 20,000 kyats per month. A total of 186 displaced people from 62 households received support, amounting to 10.86 million kyats. At the ceremony, the Union Minister said the government is continuing efforts to support displaced people, including helping them replace lost household registration lists and national ID cards, and ensuring eligible voters are included on voter lists.
He also noted that Wakema Township will hold its general election on January 11 and urged displaced citizens aged 18 and above to vote using valid national ID cards. After the ceremony, the Union Minister visited polling stations in Myaungmya Township to inspect preparations for the upcoming general election, including polling station readiness, voting machines, and staff arrangements.
