Tokyo primary school evacuated after fire breaks out

Authorities said that eight children and three others have been taken to hospital after a fire broke out at an elementary school in Tokyo’s Kita Ward on Friday.

Several individuals, including students and a teacher, suffered smoke inhalation, with about 10 reported injured. Investigative sources said the fire likely broke out from a storage room next to the music room on the fourth floor, and a stove was stored there. Officers are looking into the cause of the fire by investigating the school.
