Thousands of protesters waving Maltese flags gathered outside Malta's Courts of Justice on Sunday calling for the immediate resignation of Maltese Prime Minister, Joseph Muscat. Screaming loudly "mafia" and "out now", protesters threw fake money in the air, holding portraits of murdered journalist, Daphne Caruana Galizia. Calls for Muscat to step down have grown after one of Malta's richest men, Yorgen Fenech, has been charged with complicity to murder in the investigation into the car bomb killing of anti-corruption journalist Caruana Galizia on Saturday.

Muscat's chief of staff and two members of the cabinet have already stepped aside this week over the murder case, which threatens to bring down the island nation's close-knit elite.
