Thingyan Festival in Taunggyi : Shan State CM attended and encouraged Yein troupes

On the morning of Thingyan Akya Day (April 14) at 9:00 AM, the Chief Minister of Shan State, U Sai Htein Soe, and his wife; the Speaker of the State Hluttaw, U Sai Lone Kyaw and his wife, the Commander of the East-Command and his wife, State Ministers, the Minister for Ethnic Affairs, State Hluttaw representatives, the State Advocate General, the Secretary of the State Government and responsible officials gathered at the central pavilion near the State Hluttaw in Taunggyi.

They watched and encouraged the competition of Yein dance troupes from wards of Taunggyi.

Afterward, the State Chief Minister, the State Hluttaw Speaker, the Commander, State Ministers, and state-level departmental officials presented cash of honor to the competing Yein dance troupes.

On Thingyan Akya Day in Taunggyi, the State Chief Minister and his wife, the State Hluttaw Speaker and his wife, the Commander and his wife, State Ministers, and responsible officials participated joyfully and peacefully alongside the public in the Walking Thingyan on Bogyoke Aung San Road.

They also toured and encouraged the Padauk May Pavilion in front of Bogyoke Park and the Shwe Padauk Pavilion at the Agriculture Office, and presented cash of honor to the Yein dance troupes that performed, it’s reported.
