Thadingyut holidays: More visitors pay a visit to Bagan & Pyin Oo Lwin

During Thadingyut holidays, the businesses of the locals are doing well due to the increasing number of local and foreign visitors in Bagan and Pyin Oo Lwin Townships.

The hotels, guest houses, restaurants, local souvenir shops and the transportation service such as horse carts, e-bike and car renting services in Bagan and Pyin Oo Lwin townships get more income and profits than other holiday period.

Win Aung, Deputy Director, Directorate of Hotels and Tourism (Bagan Branch) said "The visitors like very much to pay a visit to Bagan. More visitors visit Bagan during long holiday period than regular time. On the special occasions such as Thadingyut and Tazaung Daing holidays, visitors are more crowded. Due to foreign and local visitors to Bagan, the business owners and the locals gain more profits like good income."

Likewise, the locals in Pyin Oo Lwin are also good business during Thadingyut time as the visitors buy local products, clothes and fruits.

Kyaw Hsan (In-charge), Pyin Oo Lwin Office Branch, Directorate of Hotels and Tourism said "The visitors buy local products and food such as sweaters, fruit gems, cream, strawberries and damsons as well as souvenir gifts. Because of more visitors to Pyin Oo Lwin, hotels and guest houses can be opened more. The local product and souvenir shops increase more income due to good sales and the good business can create jobs for the locals."

The number of visitors visiting Pyin On Lwin has increased by four times during Thadingyut period than other long holidays.
