On Monday, residents in low-lying regions of Bangladesh and India assessed the aftermath of a cyclone that had struck the coast, now weakened into a heavy storm.

The cyclone, named Remal, had claimed at least 10 lives and caused extensive damage to thousands of homes. Despite the storm weakening by Monday afternoon, strong winds and heavy rainfall persisted, leaving residents to contend with the wreckage of their houses amid continuing inclement weather.
