







The opening ceremony of the 2025 Tazaungdaing Festival, organized by the Rakhine State Government, was held on the evening of November 4th at the Winkabar Field in front of the Atulamarazein Pyilone Chantha Pagoda in Sittwe. The event was attended by Rakhine State Chief Minister U Htein Lin and his wife.
First, the 2025 Tazaungdaing Festival was declared open with the beating of the Rakhine auspicious drum, followed by a ribbon-cutting ceremony performed by Rakhine State Chief Minister U Htein Lin and his wife, the State Chief Justice, and State Government members.
Subsequently, Rakhine State Chief Minister U Htein Lin and his wife, along with State Government members, watched and encouraged performances by the Rakhine State Cultural Troupe, which presented a Buddha-Pujaniya Yein dance, and by famous Rakhine singers, who performed Rakhine songs.
Following this, the State Chief Minister and his wife, along with officials, launched hot air balloons within the Winkabar field. They then toured and encouraged the Satuditha food offerings being provided by departments under State Ministries, social organizations, business owners, construction companies, and ward administrators to the public attending the festival. Similarly, the Rakhine State Cultural Troupe and Rakhine singers continued their lively performances with Rakhine songs, making the Tazaungdaing Festival in Sittwe particularly vibrant.
Afterwards, the State Chief Minister and his wife, along with State Government members, attended the Tazaungdaing Festival oil lamp lighting and hot air balloon launching ceremony held at the Lawkananda Pagoda.
There, led by the State Chief Minister and his wife, oil lamps were lit in offering. Departmental staff and local residents also joyfully participated in lighting the oil lamps. They, then happily launched hot air balloons on the pagoda platform together with departmental officials and local residents.
The Tazaungdaing Festival oil lamp lighting and hot air balloon launching ceremonies were similarly being held at the Atulamarazein Pyilone Chantha Pagoda, the Yan Pyae Man Pyae Baho Konawin Dhatu-Aye Pagoda, and the Yan Pyae Man Pyae Pagoda, where they were especially crowded with departmental staff and local residents.
