






A tax free market where the own cultivators, breeders and private farms sell their products in wholesale and retail prices has been opened near Myoma Market, Nay Pyi Taw in the morning on 10th September and it’s packed with the crowd of meat and egg shopping booths of Myanmar Livestock Federation, the shopping stalls of own cultivators, breeders and private farms and seeds shops and buyers.
Above said tax free market will open from 6 to 9 am and the cold storage at the junction of Myoma market and High School (5) will sell milk, dried fish and prawn, onion, chili, potato etc. till the evening.
The Union Minister U Tin Htut Oo and officials encouraged the arrangements to sell goods at the staff housings and offices with mobile market trucks depending on the requirement of consumers.
The vegetables and fruits harvested from the research farms, model farms for the educating demonstration under the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation have been selling with cheaper prices.
By making arrangements for the own cultivators, breeders and private farms to sell their products in wholesale and retail prices, taking place of the direct exchange of fresh goods from the producers to the consumers, welfare of public service personnel, food security can be implemented and nutritious and fresh meats, fish, vegetables and fruits can be consumed by every family sufficiently.
Depending on the experiences, the arrangements will be expanded to other regions and states. Similarly, the Nay Pyi Taw Council area is being implemented the processes of Green City, Clean City, Smart City by establishing agricultural products market central cold storage and the work processes will be initiated in 2023. It will be beneficial not only the local farmers and breeders but also the consumers, it’s learnt.
