Türkiye’s first thematic Cheese Museum welcomed 72,000 domestic and international visitors in the first seven months of the year. Established in the historic Süvari Bastion in Kars, the Cheese Museum showcases the region’s cheese-making traditions, from highland life and milk production to the production of cheese.

Kars stands out for its rich cheese culture and was designated as the world’s 18th cheese route in 2020 under the “Future in Tourism Project,” carried out in cooperation with the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the United Nations Development Programme.

Opened in March 2022, the museum has a visitor area of 1,100 square meters. Exhibits include endemic plants consumed by livestock, traditional barns, milk churns, highland life, and the entire cheese-making process.
