Systematic Land Use: National Land Utilization Council Held Meeting in Nay Pyi Taw

National Land Utilization Council held its second meeting in Nay Pyi Taw on Wednesday.

 Chairman of the Council, Vice Chairman of the State Administration Council, Deputy Prime Minister, Vice Senior General Soe Win discussed that there are many challenges in utilizing lands in Myanmar such as land disputes, investments in a wide area of land, requirements for law amendments, failure to abide by the laws and regulations, manipulating the law, weaknesses in land utilization plans, confrontations with local residents due to lack of responsibility for social development and environment conservation works in doing economies, the needs of public approval in drafting land utilization plan and land use rights, data and maps as well as negotiations with the related departments in work undertakings.

In order to tackle these challenges, it needs to draft the National Land Use Bill through coordination with all related persons.

The Vice Senior General also stressed to prioritize for implementation of national lans use policy for systematic management of land reform works.
