Swedish Prime Minister and leader of Moderates Ulf Kristersson casts his vote

Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson, leader of the conservative Moderate Party, cast his ballot alongside voters as Sweden held its general election. Kristersson leads a three-party center-right minority coalition (comprising the Moderates, Christian Democrats, and Liberals).

Since 2022, his government has relied on parliamentary support from the far-right Sweden Democrats. In this campaign, Kristersson pledged that if his right-wing coalition retains a majority, he will formally include the Sweden Democrats in the government cabinet marking the first time the far-right party would hold official ministerial portfolios.

Kristersson’s re-election campaign highlighted his administration's strict measures against gang violence and illegal immigration. Pledging to focus on improving the standard of living for everyday citizens, he framed his message around the slogan "to make Sweden great again".
