










The 21st Myanmar Traditional Medicine Practitioners Conference and Seminar was opened at the Myanmar International Convention Center (2) in Nay Pyi Taw on Thursday with an attendance of Patron of the Leading Committee for Organizing the Conference Vice Chairman of the State Administration Council Deputy Prime Minister Vice-Senior General Soe Win.
First, members of the SAC Daw Aye Nu Sein and U Moung Har, Union Minister for Health Dr. Thet Khaing Win and officials formally opened the conference. The Vice Senior General then unveiled the signboard of 21st Myanmar Traditional Medicine Practitioners Conference and Seminar.
Later, Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung gave a video message to the conference. Afterwards, SAC Vice Chairman Deputy Prime Minister Vice Senior General Soe Win said that Myanmar traditional medicine is a national medicine that has been developed and sustained as a Myanmar cultural heritage from successive eras to date.
For the sustainable development of Myanmar's traditional medicines, Myanmar Traditional Medicine Practitioners Conference and Seminars have been held annually at the state level since 2000 and now it has been 21st time.
The Vice Senior General clarified about the aim of holding the conference, plans to implement the work programs that comes out from the proposals, recommendations and discussions, measures for development of traditional medicines by making researches, the importance of manufacturing of traditional medicines that can support progress of the State’s GDP and achieving MSME industries of the nation and plans to fulfill the needs of Myanmar traditional medicine manufacturing by the State.
Later, a video clip on the implementations of the Department of Traditional Medicine was shown. After the ceremony, the Vice Senior General and party viewed around traditional booths displayed by respective regions and states.
It was followed by the 21st Myanmar Traditional Medicine Practitioners Conference led by Chairman of the Leading Committer for holding the conference and Seminar Union Minister for Health Dr. Thet Khaing Win.
In the evening, the Vice Senior General hosted a dinner in honour of the delegates attending the conference. During the dinner, the staff of the Fine Arts Department of the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Culture entertained with Myanmar traditional songs and dances.
After the dinner, the Vice Senior General presented commemorative gifts to the staffs from the Fine Arts Department.
