







The inauguration ceremony of a small-scale solar power system that was undertaken as part of the National Grid outage project was held in Setsan village, Bogale township of Ayeyawady region Sunday morning.
Speaking on the occasion, Union Minister for Cooperatives and Development of Rural Areas U Hla Moe said that Mandalay Yoma Energy Company has implemented the solar-diesel combination system including 712-kilowatt solar and 240-kilowatt reserved diesel engine in Satsan village.
The project was undertaken by 60% from the state budget, 20% from the rural people and 20% from the operating company. The project is expected to benefit more than 1,300 households in the village and currently, more than 800 households have already benefited. Then, Ayeyawady Region Chief Minister U Tin Maung Win said that upon completion of Mni-Grid project, over 3.62 megawatts of electricity can be generated.
Production Road for development of Ayeyawady Region and water supply will be undertaken with the Union budget and the regional funds. Union Minister U Hla Moe, the Region Chief Minister and officials formally opened small-scale solar power system and inspected small-scale solar power plant and linking power line.
The Union Minister and party then met with entrepreneurs of rice and edible oil mills and officials and discussed production of rice bran oil, providing capital from the Ministry for inputs that are needed for sunflower cultivation, availability of irrigated water and formation of cooperative syndicates and associations.
The Region Chief Minister then reported plan to extend sunflower cultivation, the needs of inputs and getting loans on which the Union Minister coordinated the needs. The Union Minister and party then looked into laying concrete on Kyaung Kone village road in Bogale Township and operating water purifying system in Kanyin Kone village and called for sustainable rural development tasks.
