Sustainable Forest Resources: MoHA holds tree planting ceremony for the 2nd time

The Ministry of Home Affairs held 2022 Monsoon Tree Planting Ceremony for the 2nd time in the compound of the Highway Police Commandant Office in Nay Pyi Taw Dekhina Thiri Township on Friday.

Member of the State Administration Council Union Minister for Home Affairs Lt-Gen Soe Htut and wife, the Deputy Minister Lt-Gen Soe Tint Naing, departmental officials and staff attended the ceremony and planted saplings.

The Ministry of Home Affairs planted a total of 1,120 saplings of teaks, Mahogany, Gumkino, star flowers and shady trees in the 1st Monsoon Tree Planting Ceremony. In the 2nd edition ceremony, the Ministry planted a total of 1000 teak saplings.

During this monsoon season, a total of 157,537 saplings of teaks, shady trees and other plants have been planted at the head offices and offices of the departments under the Ministry till today.

The Ministry holds tree planting ceremony with the aim for sustainable development of forest resources, conservation of ecosystem and public participation in the forest conservation tasks.
