






The opening ceremony of the 2026 Summer Youth Development Courses, organized by the Rakhine State Government, was held in front of the U Ottama Hall in Sittwe Township in the morning of March 10. The event was attended by Rakhine State Chief Minister U Htein Lin and his wife.
Firstly, Rakhine State Chief Minister U Htein Lin and his wife, the Chief Justice of the State High Court, the State Minister for Security and Border Affairs, and the State Minister for Social Affairs officially opened the Summer Youth Development Courses by cutting the ceremonial ribbon.
Subsequently, the second part of the ceremony was held inside the U Ottama Hall, where Rakhine State Chief Minister U Htein Lin and his wife, along with attendees, saluted the National Flag.
Following this, Rakhine State Chief Minister U Htein Lin delivered a speech stating that annually during the summer, the State organizes and conducts Youth Development Courses in states and regions nationwide. He mentioned that in their state too, such courses are provided every year. The upcoming courses will include sports training, first aid training, and AI technology training as part of youth development initiatives. He encouraged the youth to diligently study the subjects being taught and strive to become young leaders capable of leading the future.
Continuing, the State Chief Minister U Htein Lin presented cash awards for the Summer Youth Development Courses, followed by a fitness dance performance by the sports trainees.
Afterwards, Rakhine State Chief Minister U Htein Lin, accompanied by the Commander of the West Command Ma-J Gen. Kyaw Swar Oo, State Government members, and relevant departmental officials, conducted a tour to inspect the examination centers designated for the 2026 Matriculation Examination in Sittwe Township.
The State Chief Minister and party visited examination centers at Basic Education High School No. (4), Basic Education High School No. (2), and Basic Education High School No. (6) in Sittwe. They inspected the arrangements made for the examination classrooms to facilitate the Matriculation Examination. The inspection was accompanied by explanations from the chief examiners, teachers, and school headmasters/headmistresses.
The State Chief Minister provided necessary guidance based on the explanations and coordinated with relevant officials accordingly, it’s reported.
