Summer Basic Sports Trainings: Bago Region CM graced the opening ceremony

The opening ceremony of the 2026 Bago Region Summer Basic Sports Training Courses was held on March 9th at the Region Indoor Sports Hall on Shwemawdaw Pagoda Road in Bago.

The ceremony was graced by the Bago Region Chief Minister U Myo Swe Win. First, Region Chief Minister delivered an address, stating that sports foster love for the country and unity, and that promoting sports enhances the nation's prestige. He emphasized that these Summer Basic Sports Training Courses are intended to nurture promising new generation athletes with inherent talent and potential, and to enable students to utilize their summer holidays productively.

Following his speech, the Region Chief Minister U Myo Swe Win presented sports equipment and supplies. Subsequently, demonstration performances were given in Karate, Myanmar Thaing of traditional martial arts, and Fitness Dance. The Region Chief Minister then presented commendation cash awards to the groups that performed the demonstrations for each sport.

The 2026 Bago Region Summer Basic Sports Training Courses are being conducted under the guidance of the Bago Region Government. A total of nine sports namely Football, Aerobics, Fitness Dance, Karate, Boxing, Basketball, Myanmar Thaing, Tennis, and Badminton will be taught from March 9th to 30th at designated locations in Bago, including the Hanthawady United Football Ground, the Region Youth Center, the Region Sports Hall, Ponnar Su ပုဏ္ဏားစု Monastery, and the Hinthar Tennis Court, with each sport assigned to its respective venue, it’s reported.
