Various organizations have strongly condemned the drone attack on a passenger aircraft at Myitkyina Airport in Kachin State.

A Myanmar National Airlines (MNA) ATR 72-600 passenger aircraft was attacked with FPV suicide drones at Myitkyina Airport on February 20. The plane was preparing to depart for Mandalay with passengers on board when it was targeted by a joint group of KIA and PDF terrorists.

The attack caused minor damage to the front, middle, and rear sections of the aircraft. Security forces carried out safety and evacuation measures. No passengers or crew members were injured or killed in the incident. Authorities stated that security operations will continue in the area.

It is reported that targeting a civilian airline is a violation of international law and described it as a war crime. Following the incident, religious organizations, interfaith groups, media associations, arts and cultural groups, and other national organizations released statements strongly condemning the attack.
