Stake-Driving Ceremony : Russian-Myanmar Joint Natural Foliar Fertilizer Plant

The stake-driving ceremony of the Russian-Myanmar Joint Natural Foliar Fertilizer Plant took place at Zabuthiri Township, Nay Pyi Taw on Friday. The Union Ministers led by Union Minster at the President Office (3) U Maung Maung Tint, Nay Pyi Taw Council Chairman, and officials cut the ceremonial ribbon and drove the stake at designated locations.

In his speech, Union Minister for Cooperatives and Rural Development U Hla Moe said the project is not only a major factory construction but also a symbol of the long-standing bilateral friendship and cooperation. He said the project aligns with the country’s policy of promoting domestic production and attracting foreign investment.

He noted that the Acting President has  paid special attention on the project, that highlights the friendly relations and cooperation between Myanmar and Russia, and urged all for timely completion. He added that the factory will support higher agricultural productivity, technological advancement and product quality, while reducing costs for farmers and agricultural entrepreneurs and lowering foreign currency expenditure.

He highlighted the further support of the Myanmar Investment Commission for the lawful import of construction equipment during its construction. This was followed by sectoral reports on investment opportunities in Myanmar’s agricultural sector and bilateral cooperation.

Officials from RUMA Organic Company and Aung Than Htike Company then explained the construction process. The under-construction plant is being jointly developed by Russia’s RUMA Organic Company and Aung Than Htike Agriculture Development Company to support agricultural development and promote international cooperation.
