








Shan State Chief Minister U Aung Aung, accompanied by State Ministers and officials, attended the training completion ceremony for the Summer Basic Sports Course at the State Training Indoor Stadium in Taunggyi on March 16th.
At the ceremony, the Shan State Chief Minister U Aung Aung addressed the young trainees, encouraging them to build upon the techniques and skills acquired during the course by continuing to study advanced sports technologies. He urged them to strive to progress from representing their townships, districts, and states to becoming national-level athletes who bring honor to the country.
Following his speech, the Chief Minister, State Ministers, and officials greeted the trainees. The Chief Minister presented cash awards and training completion certificates to the coaches and the trainees and the Drum and Bugle Corps from Basic Education High School No. (3).
Subsequently, State Ministers presented training completion certificates to trainees according to their respective sports disciplines.
After the ceremony, the Chief Minister, State Ministers, and officials attended the award presentation ceremony for the 2nd Kanbawza Cup Open Division Invitational Football Tournament 2026, held at the State Sports Ground under the guidance of the Shan State Government. They watched the final match between MOD FC and MYINT MO KHAM FC.
In the final, MYINT MO KHAM FC defeated MOD FC with a score of 2-1 to claim the championship. During the award ceremony, officials and State Ministers presented commemorative gifts to the referees who officiated the tournament matches. The Man of the Match award was also presented. MOD FC, as the runner-up, received individual medals and a cash prize of 50 million kyats. The champion team, MYINT MO KHAM FC, received individual medals. Shan State Chief Minister U Aung Aung awarded the first-place trophy and a cash prize of 100 million kyats to the winning team, MYINT MO KHAM FC, it’s reported.
