Sport Sector: Men's/Women's mini-marathon competition in Bago

Bago Region Government on Saturday held a men's/women's mini-marathon competition to mark the 75th Diamond Jubilee Independence., 915 men athletes and 312 women athletes from 28 townships of the Region participated in this mini-marathon competition.

The men’s mini-marathon event started from the Bago entrance gate and ended at the regional stadium along the Shwe Mawdaw Pagoda Road. The women event started near the Bago University and ended at the regional stadium along the Shwe Mawdaw Pagoda Road.

Chief Minister U Myo Swe Win and many other officials as well as locals cheered the runners on. And, at the awarding ceremony at the Hanthawaddy United football pitch, special awards and cash prizes were presented to winning men and women athletes – a lucky draw programme was also included for the athletes who completed the finish line crossings.
