Spanish PM Pedro Sanchez arrives at Vatican to meet Pope Francis

Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez arrived at the Vatican, where he is expected to hold a meeting with Pope Francis "to continue joining forces in favour of peace, urging diplomacy and dialogue rather than the military route", according to the prime minister's office.

Sanchez is one of the most outspoken critics among European Union leaders of Israel's response to the Hamas attacks on October 7, 2023.
