Deputy Minister for Electric Power Dr. Aung Zeya inspected the Taungtawkwin Solar Power Project in Myitha Township of Mandalay Region. There, the Deputy Minister heard reports on matters including the project construction process and stressed that only the use of electricity from renewable energy sources will bring about the long-term sustainable development of the nation and citizens.

With abundant solar energy resources in the country, successful implementation of Mega Solar Power projects is particularly appropriate, he added. The Taungtawkwin solar power project implemented by Green Power Energy Co., Ltd. on 80 acres of land began in December 2021 and has now been 95 % completed. Upon completion, this Taungtawkwin solar power plant will be able to generate an average of 45 million kilowatt hours of electricity per year.
