Socio-Economic Development: Agriculture and livestock breeding tasks in Kayin State

In Wae Kayin Village, local farmers are provided with the organic fertilizers, produced by AwZar Min Natural Fertilizer Plant. The Fertilizer Plant is now expanding its market for import substitution and reducing the use of chemical fertilizer.

Moreover, the KaMokKapo seed farm in Hpan-An township is demonstrating the planting of PiteSan Hemp which can be done with less production costs, help to improve the soil quality and to produce natural fertilizer.

Farmers are widely cultivating PiteSan Hemp as a green manure so as to improve the quality of soil.

Moreover, locals are engaging in poultry breeding tasks. Breeding of laying duck contributes the food security in the Kayin State to some extent.
