Social Welfare Tasks: Work Undertakings In Bago Region Inspected

Union Minister for Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement Dr Thet Thet Khaing and officials met with Bago Region Chief Minister U Myo Swe Win and officials of the regional government on 25th April.

They discussed social welfare tasks being implemented in the region including early child care, women development and caring for the aged. The meeting also discussed the cooperation with volunteer organizations, prevention and precaution measures for natural disasters and coordination for response and rehabilitation measures.

The Union Minister and party later presented over 996 million kyats cash assistance for the senior citizens and charity hostels.

The Union Minister and party later arrived at the warehouse of the Bago Region Disaster Management Department, and inspected the storage of relief items, and its distribution process. In meeting with the staff from Bago District Social Welfare Department and Disaster Management Department, the Union Minister and the Deputy Minister made speeches, and coordinated the requirements.
