Social Security Services: Social Security Board expands social welfare clinics

The Social Security Board under the Ministry of Labour expands the opening of social welfare clinics for the valid insured workers in order to get easy access of quality healthcare services.

At present, there are 3 workers’ hospitals, 96 social welfare clinics, 57 departmental clinics, 1 traditional medicine clinic, 2 mobile health vehicles, 24 capitation payment clinics and 12 free for service clinics opening in regions and states including Nay Pyi Taw council area to provide healthcare services for the valid insured workers.

Deputy Director, Social Security Board (Medical), Dr. Wunna Soe said "We are going to open the social welfare clinics near factories and workplaces where the insured workers exist and close to their accommodations. Again, based on the needs of healthcare services for the insured workers, it is to be opened at needy areas for healthcare services, in cooperation with hospitals and clinics in line with the social security laws and bylaws of the Ministry."

From October 2021 to March, the Social Security Board has been given the medical treatments for 246 inpatients, 380,850 outpatients in total.

Deputy Director, Social Security Board (Medical), Dr. Wunna Soe said "The benefits for being a member registering in social security board are free medical service for any reasons of illness, repayment for money in taking medical treatments, security fund in case of illness, birth and death, healthcare service for children under 1 year old of female insured workers, and allowances for adoption children under 1 year old by female insured workers, continuous healthcare service after retirements, allowances for temporary and eternity disabilities in case of accidents and allowances for the remaining persons after death of insured workers."

Currently, there are 33,868 departments relating to social security and over 1.1 million insured workers across the country.
