Smooth Transportation Access: Chaung Wa bridge construction has completed 76%

The construction of Chaung Wa bridge, which will connect with Gaw Yin Gyi Island and Ngayoke Kaung Township of Pathein District in Ayeyawaddy Region has completed 76% now. The bridge will be 2,400-ft long and the construction task started in 2019-2020 fiscal year and estimated to complete in 2024-2025 fiscal year.

Kyaw Myo, Deputy Director of Department of Bridge said "According to the budget situation, we estimated to complete the bridge construction in 2024-2025 fiscal year. Upon completion, the bridge will benefit 41,000 residents of 9 village-tracts in Gaw Yin Gyi island and will support promoting the tourism industry. Also people can easily access to coastal areas such as Ngayoke Kaung, Ngwe Saung, Chaung Thar of Ayeyawady region and Gwa Township of Rakhine Sate through the beach ring-road."

Upon completion of Chaung Wa bridge, people can easily travel to Gaw Yan Gyi island and it can create job opportunities for local people. Also the tourism industry and the commodity flow will improve.
