With this year's title of European culture capital in the pocket, Slovenian town Nova Gorica hopes to attract visitors with the tomb of Charles X, the last French king of the Bourbon dynasty.

After abdicating in 1830, he found refuge in the Austrian Empire and was later buried in the Monastery in modern-day Slovenia. The monastery's librarian, says it is a "world-scale phenomenon" that Charles X is "the only French king who was not buried in the Basilica of Saint-Denis" near Paris.
