







Tatmadaw donated a ruby weighing 2,789.25 carats to the State and the donation ceremony was held at the office of the Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services on Thursday.
At the event, Chairman of the State Administration Council, Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing said that recently, a youth who loves the state and the Tatmadaw offered to donate a ruby that inherited by his parents and forefathers to the Tatmadaw.
When the ruby was accessed, it was found that it is a precious one, Tatmadaw donatd this ruby to the State. Similarly, 496 carat ruby was donated to the State in the time of the State Law and Order Restoration Council in 1990 and a ruby weighing 1,907 carats was donated to the State in 2013.
Today’s donated piece of ruby is a large size weighing 2,789.25 carats and it will be identified as the State Ruby (Nasaka). The piece of ruby does not have any flaw, and it is a rare one extracted from Mogok gems land of Myanmar. A plan is underway to give a deserved honour to the donor.
Union Minister for Natural Resource Resources and Environmental Conservation U Khin Maung Yi and the Deputy Minister explained about the ruby. Later, the Senior General and those present observed the piece of ruby.
The 2,789.25-carat ruby donated by the Tatmadaw to the state has a hardness of 9 and its density is 3.99. The colour is red with purplish tint and it is produced from Mogok Gem Land and it is a significantly large piece of ruby produced from Mogok gems land.
