Myanma Railways has started new passenger train services using a battery electric locomotive (BEL) and an RBE train on the Mandalay–Lashio railway line. From December 19, the Zeebinkyi–Pyin Oo Lwin–Zeebinkyi route is operating with a battery electric locomotive, while the Pyin Oo Lwin–Gokteik–Pyin Oo Lwin route is running with an RBE train.

These services will operate every Saturday and Sunday. The BEL train departs Zibinkyi in the morning and reaches Pyin Oo Lwin, where passengers can continue their journey to Gokteik by RBE train. After reaching Gokteik, the RBE train returns to Pyin Oo Lwin, and passengers can then continue back to Zeebinkyi by BEL train.

Ticket prices for the Zeebinkyi–Pyin Oo Lwin route are 5,000 kyats for ordinary class and 10,000 kyats for upper class. The round-trip fare for the Pyin Oo Lwin–Gokteik–Pyin Oo Lwin RBE journey is 15,000 kyats per passenger. The new services aim to improve public transportation and allow passengers to enjoy scenic views along the railway route.
