Sichuan Landslides Updates

Four people have been confirmed dead and three others remain missing after landslides hit a county in southwest China's Sichuan Province on Tuesday.

Heavy rainfall caused landslides in townships of Miansi and Weizhou in Wenchuan County, according to the county's emergency management bureau. Over 900 people affected by the landslides had been relocated and no houses were damaged, according to the county publicity department.

Following the landslides, local authorities sent over 500 rescue workers to join in the rescue operation. Authorities have also sent workers to repair roads and assess the risk of further geological disasters.
