






A Ceremony for Sharing Successes in Lancang–Mekong Cooperation Efforts and Screening Documentary Program took place at Myanma Radio and Television (MRTV) in Yangon on Friday. The event was held to commemorate the 10th Anniversary of the establishment of Lancang-Mekong Cooperation (LMC) among the six member countries.
Union Minister for Information U Maung Maung Ohn sent a video message to the event, highlighting the Myanmar’s commitment to the principles and vision of the LMC to build a community with a shared future which is peaceful, prosperous and sustainably developed.
Chinese Minister Counselor Zheng Zhihong of the Chinese Embassy in Myanmar later shared the successful implementation of the LMC projects throughout 10 years period. This was followed by the sharing sessions by the officials from the MRTV, and related departments implementing the LMC projects. Lancang–Mekong Cooperation is a sub-regional cooperation mechanism established in 2016. It aims to foster the regional sustainability and all-inclusive development among the six member Countries: Cambodia, China, Lao PDR, Myanmar, Thailand and Vietnam.
Under the Lancang-Mekong Cooperation Special Fund, Myanmar has received 132 projects from 2017 to 2025, approximately US$38.6 million and has successfully implemented more than 100 projects. Through the implementation of these projects, tangible progress has been achieved in promoting the socioeconomic development and regional integration under the LMC framework.
The initiative is now moving toward a "new golden decade" to build an "LMC 2.0", focusing on green innovation and improved infrastructure and accelerating the building of a Lancang-Mekong community with a shared future of peace and prosperity.
