Shanghai Boosts NEV Recycling Efforts

Shanghai is enhancing its recycling of new energy vehicles (NEVs) by improving dismantling processes and battery recycling. Scrapped vehicles are directed to specialized plants, yielding significant recyclable materials.

The city is also focusing on safe battery disposal and promoting intelligent recycling systems. These efforts aim to address environmental challenges and foster industry growth, with a goal to develop a comprehensive automotive chip industry by 2025. Last year, Shanghai produced 1.28 million NEVs, marking a 35% increase from the previous year.
