





People gather outside the port of Kyrenia in Northern Cyprus as rescue operations continue after a passenger ferry carrying 267 people sank, killing at least seven people and leaving 23 missing. The vessel capsized 6.5 kilometres off the coast of Cyprus, shortly after it had left a Northern Cyprus port heading to Turkey's mainland.
Erhan Arikli, transport minister for the self-proclaimed Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, told Turkish television network TRT that "161 of the 276 people on board the ferry have been taken to hospital and 76 are back with their families".
