Senegal's Prime Minister Sonko officially takes office

Senegal's new Prime Minister and former opposition leader Ousmane Sonko officially takes office less than a month after being released from prison.

Both Sonko and Senegal's new president Faye were released from prison around ten days before the March 24 presidential election which Faye went on to win. After completing a handover with the outgoing Prime Minister Sidiki Kaba, Sonko said they can begin to exercise the responsibility that has been entrusted to them.
