Security Issues Seminar: 2nd ASEAN-Russia Consultations of High Representatives

The second ASEAN-Russia Consultations of the High Representatives for Security Issues seminar was held through videoconferencing in the afternoon of August 22. The seminar was attended by high-ranking officers from Russia and ASEAN member countries and U Htet Aung, Second Permanent Secretary of the Ministry at Union Government Office 1.

In the seminar, coordination officer Lieutenant-General Hun Manith, Director-General of the General Department of Research and Intelligence, Ministry of Defence, Cambodia, and Security Council Secretary of Russia Mr Nikolai Patrushev delivered greeting speeches. Regarding the political and security situation in the Asia-Pacific region, various countries participating in the discussion put forward country-by-country presentations.

In the discussion, U Htet Aung, Second Permanent Secretary of the Ministry at the Union Government Office 1 discussed implications for the security in the Asia-Pacific region, including strategic stability, and the political and security situation in the Asia-Pacific region at a time of rising tensions between regional powers.

After wards, Security Council Secretary of Russia Mr Nikolai Patrushev and coordination officer Lieutenant-General Hun Manith, Director-General of the General Department of Research and Intelligence, Ministry of Defence, Cambodia made the closing remarks, it is learnt
