Fire and smoke continued to rise early on Monday from a commercial building in Baghdad which caught on fire and then collapsed. More than two dozen people were injured, including the head of Iraq’s civil defense directorate, following the collapse on Sunday.

It’s reported that the building had been used as a "store for perfumes", the site "did not meet the safety and security requirements" and two of the three stories in the building collapsed due to the fire. Rescuers were continuing to look for missing people and no deaths were reported.

No information was immediately available on the cause of the blaze and the civil defense announced later on Monday that the fire had been fully extinguished.
