






On 18th December, Union Minister for Science and Technology Dr. Myo Thein Kyaw visited University of Information Technology (Yangon) and met with the rector, heads of departments and faculty members.
During the meeting, the Union Minister encouraged the innovations and research works which bring benefit to socio economic development of the people. After the meeting, the Union Minister inspected the Sintgu Hostel and Thazin Hostel and gave necessary instructions.
On arrival at Yangon Technological University, the Union Minister cordially greeted the students and urged them to make exerted efforts in their learning journey to become professionals who can raise Myanmar’s Engineering Sector, keeping abreast with international standards.
Then, the Union Minister met with the rector, department heads and faculty members and instructed on smooth and convenient learning environment, acceleration of teaching techniques, facelifting of the university buildings and cordially met with the students practicing at school football field and stadium.
On 19th December, the Union Minister and party visited the School of Industrial Training and Education (SITE), inspected the IoT Lab room, Pneumatics & Electro-Pneumatics Lab room, Factory Automation Lab room, Applied Machine Learning Lab room and CNC Lab room as well as the rice milling curriculums and training rooms jointly organized by Ministry of Science and Technology and Myanmar Rice Federation.
Then, the Union Minister met with the principal and faculty members of the school, instructed on short term training courses in line with industry demand and convenient accommodation of the staff. In the afternoon, the Union Minister met with the Director General, Deputy Directors General and concerned officials of the Research and Innovation Department, heard reports on human resource development activities, establishing accredited laboratories, public benefit research works and further tasks to be implemented.
The Union Minister also inspected National Analytical Laboratory, Arc Spark OES Laboratory, Food Innovation Center Food Safety Analysis Center as well as Solar energy exhibition initiated with Mekong-Lancang Cooperation Special Fund 2022 and gave necessary instructions.
