Science and Technology : Development of responsible and secure AI technologies

Union Minister for Science and Technology Dr Myo Thein Kyaw attended the 2026 China-ASEAN Ministerial Roundtable on Artificial Intelligence in Nanning, China, on September 17.

The Union Minister discussed ways to promote cooperation between China and ASEAN member states, the development of responsible, transparent, fair and secure AI technologies, and Myanmar's ongoing efforts to develop AI technology.

Experts also discussed the governance of AI technology, cybersecurity, and nurturing the younger generation to effectively use AI technology. On September 18, the Union Minister visited China-ASEAN Information Harbor Co., Ltd., where he discussed the establishment of AI infrastructure, the development of AI-based applications to support the health, education and agriculture sectors, and the training and development of AI technicians.
