Science and Technology: Consultation meeting on STISP (2022-2027) held

Union Minister for Science and Technology Dr. Myo Thein Kyaw made a remark at the Consultation Meeting on Science, Technology and Innovation Strategic Plan (2022-2027) held at the meeting hall of the ministry in the morning on Thursday.

At the meeting, the union minister said that the science, technology and innovation are crucial and major driving force for the socio-economic development of a country. For the socio-economic development of the country, the human resource with great competence in science and technology should be nurtured and the implementation for the sustainable development of science and technological services and innovations meeting the international standards should be carried out.

In addition, the union minister said in designing Science, Technology and Innovation Strategic Plan (2022-2027), it’s needed to implement effectively the plans and the tasks by the directorates within 5 years and to carry out setting the indicators.

The strategic plan is the one in conformity with the state policy, based on the policy and responsibilities of the ministry designated with the linkage of National Comprehensive Development Plan–NCDP and Myanmar Sustainable Development Goals-MSDG and covered all science and technological sectors.

By collaborating and coordinating among the departments and stakeholders, it must be implemented. Next, the permanent secretary of the Ministry of Science and Technology Dr. Sai Kyaw Oo clarified the Science, Technology and Innovation Strategic Plan (2022-2027) in brief.

Then, the union minister and officials viewed around the relevant sectors including the pillars of Science, Technology and Innovation Strategic Plan (2022-2027) to be implemented by the departments within five years, strategies and work plans.

Afterward, director general of the Department of Monitoring and Evaluation clarified the sector of monitoring and evaluation, directors general explained the relevant sectors by categorizing sections and the attendees discussed and gave suggestions.
