







In accordance with the law, the Ministry of Labor provides legal protections to protect migrant workers from labor exploitation, compulsion and abuse.
With the COVID-19 prevention rules, Myanmar migrant workers are sent abroad from vocational training schools recognized by the ministry. “Moe Moe Family” Vocational Training Center is one of the recognized facilities by the ministry, and the migrant workers are officially sent to Japan, Thailand and Malaysia through the assistance of the center, aiming to develop the country’s increase per capita income.
Managing Director, Moe Moe Family Vocational Training Center, Tin Soe said "The trainees are interviewed by the employees and are explained about the job. Pre-departure course is given after passing the interview. We sent workers abroad after giving the two-week training course about traditions of its relevant countries, employment contracts, industrial and hostel rules."
There are frequently arrests for going abroad with illegalized labor migrant channel.Workers with no overseas experience are advised to go abroad through responsible licensed employment agencies to avoid being scammed by brokers and to get secure work place.
Managing Director, Moe Moe Family Vocational Training Center, Tin Soe said "We sent over 30,000 workers to Thailand. With the rules and regulations of the Ministry of Labor, we plan to send about 4000 workers with zero-cost migrations and the rest of 5,000 workers with cash payment system. Costs are to be provided by employee with USD$2,800 for Japan, USD$ 850 for Malaysia and THB 3,600 and 150,000 MMK for Thailand before COVID-19 pandemic."
The costs for sending workers abroad have been restructured by the Ministry of Labor during this year, and it has been increased to 300,000 kyats for each worker and 4,000 baht to get to Thailand.
