Russia and Ukraine on Saturday agreed to a temporary 72-hour pause on strikes against each other's capital cities during visits by U.S. envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner. During the visit, Russian President Vladimir Putin reaffirmed Russia's readiness to continue joint work with the US in search of political and diplomatic solutions to the Ukrainian issues.

Kremlin aide Yury Ushakov said that the US envoys pledged that during their upcoming contacts in Kiev tomorrow. He also said that they would relay observations and assessments received directly from the Russian President regarding reaching a durable peaceful settlement to the Ukraine conflict.
