Russia / Myanmar: Meeting for Trade and Economic Cooperation

Preparatory Meeting on the Inter-Governmental Russian-Myanmar Joint Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation was held at the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Economic Relations on Wednesday afternoon. Chairman of Myanmar side Commission Union Minister for Investment and Foreign Economic Relations U Aung Naing Oo and Commission Members attended the meeting.

At the meeting, the Union Minister delivered opening remarks. Secretary of Myanmar side Commission, Director General for Ministry of Investment and Foreign Economic Relations Dr. Wah Wah Maung updated the drafting process of the Strategy for the Development of Economic Cooperation between Russia and Myanmar.

Commission Members discussed the status of sectoral cooperation and made suggestions for future programmes. The meeting mainly focused on preparation of the Inter-Governmental Russian-Myanmar Joint Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation as well as bilateral Business Matching program, and the future cooperation on bilateral Strategy.
