Russia continued sending military vehicles to Belarus for joint drills Monday as tensions increase between Russia and Ukraine near their common border. In joint military exercises with Belarus, Russian military units have moved to areas near Belarus' southern border, which is about 75 kilometres from Kyiv.

The drills will take place in February.   Meanwhile, Russia is also carrying out military exercises in the Voronezh region which borders Ukraine.  With an estimated 100,000 Russian troops massed near Ukraine, many fear Moscow is preparing an invasion although Russia denies that.

The U.S. and its allies are scrambling to present a united front to prevent an invasion, or coordinate a tough response if they can't.  Putin faced limited international consequences for those moves, but the West says a new invasion would draw a more severe response.
