Rural Development : MCRD Union Minister tours in Bago and Yangon Regions

Union Minister for Cooperatives and Rural Development U Hla Moe, along with officials, visited Bago Region on Friday to inspect rural development projects and cooperative activities. The Union Minister inspected completed concrete roads in Daik-U Township, benefiting over 460 villagers.

He encouraged local participation in maintaining the roads. The Union Minister also visited model paddy farms and advised farmers to use quality seeds and proper techniques for better yields. At Pyitawaye Village, the Union Minister met with cooperative farmers and emphasized forming strong groups to boost income through agriculture and livestock activities.

He then released fish into cooperative-owned ponds, and inspected a poultry farm. In Phaye Village, the Union Minister reviewed smart village development, income-generating activities, and RBF fund usage for rural development. He also visited sewing training’s trainees and pledged support for small businesses to help increase rural household income.

In Hmawby Township of Yangon Region, the Union Minister toured a factory, producing organic fertilizer from agricultural waste. He highlighted the importance of reducing chemical fertilizer imports and creating local job opportunities. The Union Minister encouraged community involvement, proper planning, and sustained efforts to boost rural economies and improve livelihoods.
