Rural Development: Efforts for boosting production and rural development

Aiming to achieve target monsoon paddy yield and accelerate cotton plantation, fertilizer inputs distribution ceremony for the farmer who aren’t engaged in State Economic Promotion Fund project was held in Kula Village of Kyaukse Township in Mandalay Region on 28th August.

Union Minister for Cooperatives and Rural Development U Hla Moe, together with Mandalay Region Chief Minister U Myo Aung, attended the ceremony. During the ceremony, the Chief Minister made clarifications on current work implementations and drum seeder provision to reach target yield.

Subsequently, the Union Minister stressed the purpose of agricultural inputs distribution with harvest time repayment which is to reduce agricultural costs and to assist the farmers in striving to obtain their target crop yields. Then, the Union Minister instructed the farmers to use agricultural inputs systematically in accordance with the instructions issued by the Department of Agriculture.

He also elborated on timely repayment of the inputs and loans at harvest time. During the event, Urea compound fertilizers were provided to the farmers. Then, the Union Minister and party proceeded to temporary offices of Kyaukse District Small Scale Industries Department and Kyaukse Cooperatives Department, met with the staff and provided necessary assistance.

Subsequently, the Union Minister met with the Myaing Kone Agriculture and General Cooperative Association member farmers at Myaing Kone Village in Myittha Township. There, the Union Minister stressed on requisite assistance provision to produce value added cotton products locally to substitute cotton import products.

He instructed the cotton growers to grow premium cotton varieties using sufficient water and correct growing methods. Then, he coordinated necessities on reports presented by the farmers. Then, the Union Minister inspected the pre-monsoon cotton cultivation and gave necessary instructions on meeting market requirements, achieving high profits.

On the same day, the Union Minister and party inspected the concrete paving of No.4 District Circular Road, Myingyan Kone-Khan Tatkone-Hnankhin-Shwe Ceti inter-village road, heard reports on current tasks undertaking and stressed on timely completion of the process, meeting set standards and long-term resilience of the road.
