Rural Development: Deputy Minister meets with concerned officials, growers

Deputy Minister for Cooperative and Rural Development U Myint Soe met with concerned officials and staff in Hinthada Township of Ayeyawaddy Region.

In the meeting, after clarifying the Ministry’s policy and tasks, the Deputy Minister called on attendees to work together for rural infrastructure development, value-added product technology distribution and implementation of the agricultural and breeding activities.

Also, at the Hinthada District General Administration Department, the Deputy Minister met with green pea growers and explained the State’s fund programme for the cold season green pea growing.

Also, the meaning and process of contract farming, plans to grow green pea through a cooperative system and plans to connect and cooperate with the relevant departments for the cold season green pea growing in Ayeyawaddy Region.

In KunChanKone [East] Village of Lemyethna Township, the Deputy Minister handed over the fund of 10 million Kyats for the Village Development Project.

At the Lemyethna Township General Administration Department, the Deputy Minister explained the State’s assistance for successful cultivation of green pea in over 2,300 acres of Lemyethna Township area and cooperation with relevant associations.

He also met with concerned officials and staff and urged them to successfully implement rural development projects. In Yaykyi Township, the Deputy Minister met with green pea growers, explained contract farming and assistance and fulfilled the requirements.
