Rubber Export Market: Rubber worth USD 450 MIL exported in 2021-2022 FY

According to the official from Myanmar Rubber Planters and Producers Association, there are over 1.6 million acres of rubber plantations in Myanmar and out of them,more than 850,000 acres have been produced rubbers during 2022. During the rainy season of rubber planting period, it needs to cultivate quality rubber strains and to have the correct cultivation method. 

Khine Myint, General Secretary, Myanmar Rubber Planters and Producers Association said "Mon state is the largest rubber producer in the country, followed by Tanintharyi Region as the second, Kayin State as the third, Yangon and Bago Region as the fourth and others rubber growing areas are in Ayeyarwaddy, Southern and Northern Shan State and Kachin State."

Preparations are made to cultivate rubber at the beginning of the rainy season in Myanmar. In the rainy season, the rubber production rate is also declined, according to the General Secretary of Myanmar Rubber Planters and Producers Association.

Khine Myint, General Secretary, Myanmar Rubber Planters and Producers Association said "The rubber production rate has been decreasing during the rainy season, results in international market price is currently leading to decline. Currently, the price of RSS3 rubber is just around 1,050 to 1,100 in International market. Rubber exporters in Myanmar are now exporting currently purchased items to foreign countries."

During 2021-2022 fiscal year, as the export product, rubber exports were valued at USD 450 million and about 75% of Myanmar’s rubber has been exported to China.
